Nope, I doubt it.

Ah well that is like saying how long is a piece of string.
Most companies have gone now but their discs remain in circulation on the used market.

Its not practical to buy one here and one there.
You can grab whole collections of Sunfly Hits series on the cheap but make sure you grab the Most Wanted as well.
Once you have these then you are set to go.
I like Sunfly discs but they are not necessarily the best so from there you grab other collections as you go.
A cheap karaoke disc player with your system will work fine.
My karaoke discs are in one case but I am getting older and they seem to becoming heavier now
I wish all I had to carry was a laptop like some people do!

There was a really cool article on the blogs which might have helped you but after checking this morning I can't find it.

The speakers are Celestion SR-1
2 x 500W 8ohm for out front.

2 x 250W 8ohm Celestion SR-3 for monitors.

The main amp is C-Audio, I think.
Monitor amp Hill.

Always sounded good live or with recorded music,

Thank you for your interest,

I had the SR-1's for a while many years ago but I didn't like the mid-range so with it being karaoke I found them a little flat for singing.
I am not saying they are bad but I wanted to get the vocal out there a little more.
There is no such thing as 'best' speakers anyway, it's what pleases you, so if you are happy with the sound you are getting then that's fine.
I don't have any gear at the moment, just a garage load of discs, I got rid of my stuff on account of space (and a growing family).
Nowadays I get by working for others and they provide the (mostly cr*p) gear.
I'd have the SR-1's again if cheap enough and I was setting up again but the money is coming in steadily now so I am happy.
When are you expecting to go on a first gig then?

I still can't find it, it's about the sound comparison between discs and hard drive music.

Hope to gig by February next year.

I agree the Celestion Sr-1’s do have a very flat sound which I have always found excellent for vocals. However I appreciate
The backing tracks have to be well presented too and that may be more of a challenge

I do also have a 32 band stereo graphic to employ and a feedback eliminator which I have found with judicial use helps maximise the headroom volume attainable with the vocals.

I am looking forward to the whole experience,

Thanks again for your interest,

Excellent, hopefully by then you will be able to experiment with your new setup whatever way you are going.
When you get sorted, why not post some images of your gear and suchlike.
Make sure you tell us what gear you got and how its going.
Especially if you go down the Karafun route.
I, for one, would be very interested, as I was always looking how others set up their systems.
Also I like how you are going to break up the karaoke with a live act, so you need to tell us how this goes

Damn, you are right, it's gone. It must have been gone a long time as the database hasn't been updated for a few years.
You can make a post if you like or I will when I get some time.

Hi Wolfy,

Thanks again for your interest, I appreciate the friendly community.

I will endeavour to update the forum with progress. At some point I will have a technical reahersal and then a warm up gig.

Can’t wait to make it all happen,

Robbie
