Two "Performer's Choice" labels

Post: # 7254Post waynec444 »

I have come across something strange.

There are TWO labels named "Performer's Choice." One has only 4 songs per disk. The other has more than 4 (the ones KS has under Sound Choice). Different songs. They both also use 77xx for their numbering.

See the images for 7764. I am using this as an example as they both have the same disk numbers. Most of the images I have seen for the ones with 4 songs do not have disk numbers in the images I have observed.

In addition, I am including an image of a disk with only 4 songs. I have an image for a SC 77xx disk but apparently cannot include more than 3 images.

Anyone have any insight about this?

I think I still have some of these so I will check my lock up soon and get back to this question.
I am sure I have seen a similar question pop up before.

Sorry for the late reply but I think I have the answer now.

This is the listing for PC7764:

PC7764-01 - Ricky Martin - Livin' La Vida Loca
PC7764-02 - Enrique Eglesias - Bailamos
PC7764-03 - Santana & Rob Thomas - Smooth
PC7764-04 - Lou Bega - Mambo No. 5
PC7764-05 - Ricky Martin (Wvocal) - Livin' La Vida Loca
PC7764-06 - Enrique Eglesias (Wvocal) - Bailamos
PC7764-07 - Santana & Rob Thomas (Wvocal) - Smooth
PC7764-08 - Lou Bega (Wvocal) - Mambo No. 5

This is the listing for SC7764:

SC7764-01 - Garth Brooks - Friends In Low Places (Live)
SC7764-02 - Billy Ray Cyrus - Achy Breaky Heart
SC7764-03 - Alan Jackson - Chattahoochee
SC7764-04 - Toby Keith - I Love This Bar
SC7764-05 - Tim McGraw - I Like It, I Love It
SC7764-06 - Brooks & Dunn - Boot Scootin' Boogie
SC7764-07 - Johnny Paycheck - Take This Job And Shove It
SC7764-08 - Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffett - It's Five O'Clock Somewhere
SC7764-09 - Garth Brooks (Wvocal) - Friends In Low Places (Live Version)
SC7764-10 - Billy Ray Cyrus (Wvocal) - Achy Breaky Heart
SC7764-11 - Alan Jackson (Wvocal) - Chattahoochee
SC7764-12 - Toby Keith (Wvocal) - I Love This Bar
SC7764-13 - Tim McGraw (Wvocal) - I Like It, I Love It
SC7764-14 - Brooks & Dunn (Wvocal) - Boot Scootin' Boogie
SC7764-15 - Johnny Paycheck (Wvocal) - Take This Job And Shove It
SC7764-16 - Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffett (Wvocal) - It's Five O'Clock Somewhere

PC77xx are 4+4 tracks (four normal karaoke tracks and four with-vocal tracks).
SC77xx are 6+6 tracks (six normal karaoke tracks and six with-vocal tracks).

All those in the Soundchoice 77xx series all come under the Performers Choice label.
But, you can't really have 2 x PC7764 or it would be confusing and this applies to many discs in that series.
So the rule of thumb here would be to label those tracks with only 8 tracks as PC77xx and those with 12 tracks as SC77xx.

I hope this has cleared up the mystery.
