American Pie - the secret message

Apparently the song lyrics have just been sold by Don McLean who has turned 70 and wants to enjoy the money from the sale of the manuscript.
McLean is getting 1.2 million dollars from the sale.
The opening of the song is about Buddy Holly but the rest of the songs meaning remained a mystery which should be found in the manuscript.
Good deal that, keeping it secret then selling it for a massive payday later in life.

Ok I get it. There's a hidden message in the manuscript from the song that was around in the early seventies. Fine, but now that someone has bought it do we all find out or does this remain a secret? Possibly because whoever bought it will need to keep the secret in order to keep the investment otherwise the manuscript could be worthless without the secret attached.
